The America Invents Act was enacted into law on September 16, 2011.  A 15% transition surcharge on many Patent Office Fees took effect on September 26, 2011.  Other provisions of the Act will take effect over the next 18 months, including Post-Grant Review of issued U.S. Patents, First-Inventor-to-File priority instead of First-to-Invent, Prioritized Examination, and Supplemental Examination after Grant, among others.
