Joseph G. Curatolo, Esq. is a principal of Curatolo
Sidoti, concentrating on client counseling, patent and trademark
preparation and prosecution, licensing, opinions, and dispute resolution.
He has experience in the chemical, materials science, semiconductor,
biotechnology, and mechanical arts. Joseph was formerly Senior Patent
and License Counsel of The Standard Oil Company/BP America, and
was a director of Renner, Kenner, Greive, Bobak, Taylor & Weber.
Joseph is a member of the Bar of the State of Ohio, and is admitted
to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern
District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals for the
Federal Circuit. Joseph has been active in various PTO Automation
and Electronic Filing committees of the American Intellectual Properly
Law Association and the American Bar Association Intellectual Property
Section, and is a member of the Federal Circuit Bar Association,
the Ohio Bar Association, and the Cleveland Intellectual Property
Law Association. Joseph has a B.S. from John Carroll University,

SALVATORE A. SIDOTI
DIRECTOR
Salvatore A. Sidoti, Esq. is a principal of Curatolo
Sidoti concentrating on client counseling, patent and trademark
preparation and prosecution, intellectual property opinions, and
dispute resolution. Sal has experience in the chemical, biochemical,
materials science, and polymer arts. Sal also has substantial experience
with trademark procurement and inter partes proceedings before the
Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Sal was previously associated
with Renner, Kenner, Greive, Bobak, Taylor & Weber. Sal is a
member of the Bar of the State of Ohio, and is admitted to practice
before the United States District Court for the Northern District
of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit,
and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Sal
received his B.S. from Hiram College and J.D. from Cleveland Marshall
College of Law. Sal is currently active in the PCT Issues Committee
of American Intellectual Property Law Association and serves as
the Secretary of the Intellectual Property Section of the Ohio State
Bar Association. Sal is also a member of the Intellectual Property
Section of the American Bar Association, the Federal Circuit Bar

Ms.
Dinah H. Lewitan is Senior Counsel to Curatolo Sidoti, concentrating
on patent counseling including patent infringement and validity
analysis, litigation evaluation, novelty and patentability searches
and opinions, patent application preparation and prosecution, patent
licensing and technology related agreements. She was formerly associated
with Weingram & Associates of Paramus, N.J., Rosen, Dainow &
Jacobs, of N.Y., N.Y., and Oblon, Fisher, Spivak, Mcclelland &
Maier, of Arlington, VA, where she had experience in biotechnology,
microbiology, pharmaceuticals, immunology, medical and dental devices,
diagnostic and therapeutic methods and kits, prosthetic devices;
the chemical arts, chemical processes, polymers, ceramics, alloys,
dyes, foods, herbicides and pesticides; and the mechanical arts,
toys, sports equipment, jewelry and fashion accessories. Dinah is
a member of the Bar of the State of New York, and was formerly an
examiner in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, covering microbiology,
molecular and cell biology, recombinant DNA technology, fermentation
processes, enzyme technology, hybridomas and monoclonal antibodies,
tissue cell cultures, immunoassays, immunology, and diagnostic and

Peter
R. Detorre, Esq. is an associate of Curatolo Sidoti, concentrating
on patent and trademark preparation and prosecution. Peter holds
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and a Minor in Chemistry
from Case Western Reserve University. He obtained his J.D. from
the University Of Dayton School Of Law where he concentrated on
Intellectual Property Law and in Technology and the Law. Peter is
a member of the Bar of the State of Ohio and is admitted to practice
before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is
a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Bar
Association.
VINCENT
A. CORTESE

Vincent A. Cortese, Esq. is an associate of Curatolo Sidoti, concentrating on patent and trademark preparation, prosecution and opinions. Vince holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Dayton, where he focused on process engineering. Vince completed coursework and lab work in thermodynamics, process control, transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, separation processes, organic and inorganic chemistry, and thermoset polymer chemistry. Vince participated in specialized lab work dealing with proton exchange membrane fuel cells and boiling heat transfer.
Vince obtained his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. At Cleveland-Marshall, Vince was a founder and President of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association, which works with students to increase awareness of Intellectual Property law as a career choice and with administrators to strengthen Cleveland-Marshall’s IP course offerings. Vince is a member of the Bar of the State of Ohio and is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of various national and local bar associations.
Since beginning his career with Curatolo Sidoti, Vince has participated in preparing numerous patent applications, patentability studies, right to use opinions, validity opinions and innumerable patent prosecution documents. Vince has also prepared and prosecuted numerous trademark applications and been involved with trademark opposition proceedings.
JULIE D. HAWK

Julie D. Hawk is an associate of Curatolo Sidoti, concentrating on patent and trademark preparation and prosecution. Julie obtained her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law where she concentrated on Intellectual Property Law and received an award for academic excellence in International Patent Law. She has a B.A. from Baldwin-Wallace College, Cum Laude, and a Minor in Computer Science. Before beginning her legal career, Julie worked as a Software Engineer for Cisco Systems, Inc. where she gained more than ten years of industry experience. During her tenure at Cisco, Julie was responsible for the architecture and implementation of automated software test systems and hardware validation routines for IEEE 802.11 wireless products. Previously, Julie managed a team of test engineers for a leading provider of fixed-wireless, automated meter reading solutions. Julie’s expertise includes wireless communications, computer networking and security, analog and digital circuitry, and automated testing technologies. Julie is a member of the Bar of the State of Ohio and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is a member of the Ohio Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association and the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association.

Daniel E. Moderick, is an associate of Curatolo Sidoti. Dan earned his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Ohio State University, and received his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Prior to entering law school, Dan served as an Applications Engineer for both Linde Gas, LLC and Airgas, Inc. His primary duties consisted of technical and sales support for the metals, glass, and electronics industries, with a focus on improving customers’ quality, cost, productivity, safety, and working environment. He is a former member of ASM International, and the Center for Heat Treating Excellence (CHTE). Dan is a member of the Bar of the State of Ohio, the Ohio Bar Association, the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.

Benedict S. Curatolo,
Ph.D. is a registered patent agent concentrating on patent procurement
in the chemical and polymer arts. Ben has extensive research experience
in the chemical and polymer arts, is the author of several technical
encyclopedia articles, has taught graduate level Polymer Chemistry,
holds over 30 U.S. patents, and is a member of the BP America Inventors
Hall of Fame. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry
from John Carroll University, and a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from
the University of Akron.
